Morgan Lander launches Winterlvst, her new darkwave project

Morgan Lander presenta Winterlvst, proyecto darkwave con el sencillo “Broken Lines” y álbum debut “Awakening” programado para abril de 2026.

The vocalist of Kittie, Morgan Lander, ha presentado oficialmente un nuevo proyecto musical titulado Kittie vocalist Morgan Lander has officially introduced a new musical project titled Winterlvst, exploring “orchestral darkwave” alongside Justine Ethier of Blackguard and musician Jonathan Lefrançois-Leduc., una propuesta que explora el terreno del “orchestral darkwave” junto a Justine Ethier de Blackguard y el músico Jonathan Lefrançois-Leduc.

The group debuted with the single “Broken Lines,” now available on streaming platforms, marking the formal launch of a project that had been teased since 2020. The track blends darkwave foundations with elements of goth rock and touches of black metal, balanced by a strong orchestral presence.

The single’s release was accompanied by the announcement of their debut album Awakening, set for April 3, 2026. Leading up to this reveal, the band shared cryptic visual and sonic teasers on social media.

In addition to the album release, Winterlvst is also preparing a special presentation at the Théâtre Sainte-Catherine in Montreal, where they will participate in a joint event with author Martine Bourque. The event will combine a literary reading with a musical performance by the project, expanding its scope to a multidisciplinary approach.

The group's formation and aesthetic, even described with an ironic touch as "capes optional", points to a broader conceptual exploration within the alternative scene, integrating visual, narrative and sound elements.
