Ghost: New video, ‘Umbra’

Ghost release “Umbra,” a new video from SKELETÁ, their Billboard 200 #1 album, expanding their dark universe amid a massive global tour.

Swedish rock band Ghost mark this Friday the 13th with the release of “Umbra,” a fiery new video taken from SKELETÁ, their sixth studio album. The record debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, becoming the band’s first chart-topping album on the U.S. all-genre chart and further cementing their global reach.

Directed by Amir Chamdin, the “Umbra” video follows a pair of doomed lovers spiraling toward inevitable mutual destruction. The narrative unfolds under the watchful presence and narration of Papa V Perpetua, a central figure in the band’s current aesthetic era. Visually, the clip blends sensuality, fatalism and theatrical drama — hallmarks of Ghost’s signature style.

Released on April 25, 2025 via Loma Vista Recordings, SKELETÁ includes singles such as “Satanized,” praised for its catchy goth-rock edge; “Lachryma,” performed during the band’s debut appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon; and “Peacefield,” the monumental opener of both the album and Ghost’s large-scale 2025 live rituals.

The arrival of “Umbra” comes during a particularly strong year for the band. Ghost kicked off the cycle with a GRAMMY nomination and the U.S. leg of the Skeletour Tour, which concludes on February 23 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. The tour has sold close to half a million tickets worldwide, underscoring the project’s commercial momentum and live power.

With “Umbra,” Ghost expand the narrative universe of SKELETÁ, delivering a Friday the 13th release that merges dark romance, cinematic spectacle and conceptual ambition — reaffirming their status as one of modern rock’s most influential acts.
