Combichrist It is undoubtedly one of the most deeply rooted bands in the Mexican electro-industrial scene, which was demonstrated with the true party of beats powerful and industrial sounds than the Norwegian-led band Andy LaPlegua put together on his recent visit to the Forum Rome.
The venue, undoubtedly a very elegant and functional place that we recommend for more events, opens its doors already when the night is dark like the clothes of most of the attendees. After the performance of the Mexican band Oxomaxoma and its mechanical and dirty style, suddenly in the ambient sound begins to reproduce "This Shit Will Fuck You Up" of the disk "Everybody Hates You" of Combichrist. Once the song is finished, one by one the musicians take their place on stage, until finally and with the camera go-pro in hand, Andy LaPlegua makes his appearance with his face semi-covered for a few minutes to open the night with "Hate Like Me", detached from his most recent plate "One Fire", with a sound very close to styles like Rob Zombie. And is that currently setlist of Combichrist are a mix of great themes from both his time absolutely EBM how "Never Surrender", "Shut Up And Swallow" and "Satan´s Propaganda", as well as absolutely industrial topics like Guns at Last Dawn which with its slow sound and which then accelerates to the beast and then returns to calm, reminds us of the pulsations generated by bands such as Ministry. In this topic the moshpit in the middle of the track it got out of control, and the people were running blows left and right like war machines.
Combichrist It is a band that immediately puts your body to move, whether it is dancing with frenzy to the rhythm of songs like Throat Full Of Glass, "Can't Control" and "Follow the Trail of Blood"; either also assembling the slam with the sound 100 % metalhead of songs like “No Redemption ”. Many people do not like the turn it has taken Combichrist focusing on metal, but we must say that as far as the band broadcasts live they are in one of their best moments as a project. The vitality given by its new members is evident, with the drumming of the battery by Dane white and its tribal look that makes it rumble Blut Royale and on the other side the madness of the percussionist Will Spodnick that keeps climbing on the drums and waddling like a devil (and with a monstrous resemblance to "Floki" from the netflix series "Vikings") touching "They". Between juggling and throwing drumsticks at each other, and ahead with the dark sobriety of Eric 13 on the strings, the band says goodbye momentarily with "What The Fuck Is Wrong With You?".
The grouping returns to the stage, and Andy expresses thanks to everyone for being at this great party, unleashing the crazy festivity of "Maggots at the Party". The moment that Combichrist say goodbye has come, and you do it with the homonymous song from your most recent album "One Fire", with everything and snippet of War Pigs of Black Sabbath included. Raising our fists every time the fire is mentioned, we say goodbye to the band that, without a doubt, gave one of their best performances in terms of power, in all the times they have visited our country.
