The creator of the horror novel with gothic, dark and spatial overtones, which was later called cosmic horror, Howard Phillips Lovecraft. It got to mark footprint in Literature by its essential style. Along with the legendary Edgar Allan Poe, are part of the circle of illustrious writers of horror literature.
He was born in Providence, United States, on August 20, 1890. As a child he was interested in reading, especially astronomy books, a discipline that fascinated him so much that it can be seen reflected in his work as a writer.
Developer Cthulhu Mythos, which includes a large number of works based on a body of mythical characters, gods, and fantasy creatures that make up an extraordinary combination of elements that makes Lovecraft's style unmatched.
Some of his most important works are: Cthulhu's call, The color that fell from space, Dunwich horror, The shadow over Innsmouth, In the mountains of madness, The Charles Dexter Ward case and of course the Necronomicon.
The legacy left by this American writer transcends borders through various forms of expression such as cinema, art and music. From his classic Necronomicon, to the infallible God Cthulhu and other originals, they are present in themes of bands that have paid tribute to Lovecraft.
