Tarja and her triumphant return to Mexico

After two years of absence, Tarja Turunen returned to Aztec lands to celebrate the release of his latest album ‘In The Raw’, visiting Querétaro, León, Monterrey, Mexico City and Guadalajara. Five dates exclusively for Mexicans, what a wonder! and without a doubt, he made his position in the industry more than clear by filling in all the dates.

We attended the concert in Mexico City and Guadalajara, and it was spectacular! We tell you what happened:

Who was accompanying Tarja on all five dates, was the Argentine band Asspera, a band that calls itself as ‘metal bizarro’, and what yes what letters! we could listen to songs that spoke from shit —literal— to taxes and more somewhat picturesque themes, each member uses a mask to keep their identity anonymous, what energy do the guys have! would be a perfect band for moshpit, but this occasion was not achieved, although the attendees enjoyed and laughed with their participation prior to Tarja. As a curious fact, the guitarist of Asspera, Julian, is the guitarist of Tally.

Y bueno, el momento llegó… después de unos momentos de diversión, los sentimientos se pondrían a flote con la presencia de Tally, the lights went out, the audience began to scream, introductory music along with lights gave suspense to the entrance, the members entered the stage, until a pale beauty with black hair made a triumphal entry with a golden dress, kicking off at night with ‘Serene’.

What presence does it have! without a doubt, he has an angel on stage, and a voice that managed to captivate each attendee, thanked the public in Spanish - remember that he lived in Argentina and is fluent in the language - and with a giant smile, he continued the show ‘Demons in You’ and ‘My Little Phoenix’ They were the next pieces to be performed, in each song it showed the videos of the songs or some graphics that perfectly harmonized their performance.

‘La siguiente canción se la quiero dedicar a los 44 tripulantes de la tragedia argentina del ARA San Juan’, Tarja mentioned, starting ‘Spirits of the Sea’. A somewhat moving and sad moment for those events, which at the end of the song ‘Goodbye Stranger’ and ‘Falling Awake’ They raised the adrenaline in the public, what a setlist!

And well, a surprise follows, undoubtedly one of my favorite moments, the keyboard of that peculiar song that has marked the career of Tally since its inception with Nightwishyes we are talking about ‘Nemo’ The entire venue was singing it! and she looking so spectacular, obviously, with another outfit, a black dress with gold that made her look incredibly beautiful.

And after so much excitement, the evening continues to get even more exciting, they brought a keyboard to Tally, to interpret ‘The Golden Chamber’ and ‘You and I’, very emotional songs that gave that special touch to the night.

Setting the keyboard aside, he gave way to ‘Undertaker’, followed by ‘Tears in Rain’, one of my favorite songs from his new album, and in the backdrop, we could see the video of this piece. And before receiving the encore, the march started with ‘Victim of Ritual’ What song!

Returning from the little pause, we received a Tally —Logically in another dress—, to sing ‘Innocence’, one of the most emotional songs on his album ‘The Shadow Self’ (2016).

Muchas gracias a todos ustedes que han estado desde un inicio de mi carrera solista conmigo, no ha sido fácil, pero no me pienso rendir, y si sigo aquí es gracias a todo su apoyo’, these were the words that Tally gave it to the public to kick off his first single of his solo career ‘I Walk Alone’ The skin became Chinese! A song that transmits many emotions.

And to close the evening, ‘Dead Promises’ and ‘Until My Last Breath’ They were in charge of marking the night as unforgettable. With a smile, the Mexican flag and a charro hat, Tarja says goodbye hoping to return to our country very soon.
