Ghost’s 2025 Tour Goes Phone-Free: “It Was a Life Changer,” Says Tobias Forge

Ghost’s 2025 phone-free tour is a “life changer,” says Tobias Forge, reshaping the band’s entire live experience.

Swedish metal giants Ghost have announced that their entire Skeletour 2025 will be conducted without mobile phones, reaffirming their commitment to authentic live experiences.

Frontman Tobias Forge shared that the phone ban was inspired by a growing sense of disconnect during past shows, even in countries known for high audience energy. “There were 18,000 people… and 10,000 phones. And they weren’t even bouncing anymore. I just thought: ‘What is this? What happened?’”

Forge elaborated on the emotional impact of the new policy: “Walking off stage the first night of the tour, we all felt it—this completely changed how everything feels. It’s absolutely been a life changer for the existence of the band.”

Reflecting on the initial decision, he noted: “A lot of artists hate phones, but it’s one thing to complain and another to actually do something about it. We had to consider the cost, the logistics… and it was worth every bit.”

Ghost’s tour will include dates in Europe, North America, and Mexico (September 23, 24 & 25). Audiences will experience a concert fully in the moment, free from digital distractions.
