Simply 'Lemmy'. That will be the name of the biographical film that the Greg Olliver will direct next year on the legendary singer of Mötorhead, Lemmy Kilmister. Back in 2010, the director was in charge of the documentary that bears the same name, so he is not a stranger to the subject.
The tape will portray the life of Lemmy Kilmister growing up in Stoke-on-Trent, when he becomes a roadie from Jimi Hendrix and a member of the seminal psychedelic rock band Hawkwind before establishing Motörhead.
“The music of Lemmy and Motorhead had a great influence on my life and my musical experience. They were the band that started the crossover between metal and punk, and (the producer) VMI couldn't be more excited to bring this story to the big screen. ”

'Lemmy' It will be presented at the Cannes festival by the producer VMI Worldwide and the script will be directed by Medeni Griffiths. The managers of Mötorhead, Todd Singerman and Steffan Chirazi will be executive producers and production is expected to start in 2021, although it will depend on the evolution of the situation with COVID-19.
“Everything you have heard about Lemmy is probably true. Not because it's full of rock clichés, but because he created them. Some red Marlboro and Jack Daniel's for breakfast, speed (the drug) dinner, all that is true. But behind that steel-eyed rocker facade, there was also a convincing, complicated, lion-hearted man who stayed on course and never stopped playing the music that made him happy. We have been carefully developing this biographical film since 2013, making sure to stay true to Lemmy, the Motörhead gang members - Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee -, and all the other people who played important roles in Lemmy's life. It will be a movie that they will be proud of. ” said the director, Greg Olliver.
“It is a story of immense cultural importance. If these five years of absence have taught us anything, it is that Lemmy was more unique than we all thought. Greg is a very trusted part of our circle, and we are thrilled to see this movie come true. ”Todd Singerman added.
Lemmy Kilmister passed away on December 28, 2015 due to prostate cancer, which was diagnosed just two days before her death.
