It is undeniable that the Guadalajara metal scene is increasingly active and with representatives who have assaulted national stages aggressively. Bands like Pressive or Thell Barrio They have become recurring names in the largest billboards in the country, such as Hell and Heaven Metal Fest, Knotfesty Force Fest, making way for others that are slowly gaining ground due to their quality. One of these bands is Insertion Loss, founded in 2011 and about whom we talked about their first album, ‘Spontaneous Human Combustion’.
When we thought about the name of the band, we were looking for something that denoted that loss of energy and curiously we found this… .we always look for contrasts and be a bit the opposite so… .musically and scenic we are the opposite, we consider that INSERTION LOSS is quite a power surge
We understand it as the perfect pairing between the brutality of DEATH METAL, with the melodies even of currents such as HEAVY or NÜ METAL
Perhaps the description, for some is very ambiguous, but for us it is very clear, since we take what works best for each gender
The name of the album was born as a result of thinking that a body could spontaneously catch fire due to the excess energy that runs through its entire system, and that in the end and in an imaginary way we seek to provoke it with our music in each of the themes.
Why include electronic music beats and synthesizers in your Metal?
We wanted to give our sound some freshness, electronic music and synthesizers are environmental tools that give the viewer a better idea of what each of the songs is trying to represent, since in them we talk about how technology and science have made from us consumer and self-destruct machines.
What is the local scene of Metal bands like in Guadalajara?
Despite the fact that the national scene has shown enormous growth in terms of music, there are still many divisions ... that to say those divisions do not really matter to us, fortunately we have had the opportunity to share the stage with bands that "have little or nothing to do with with what we do ”and that has not represented any problem if not on the contrary, they have contributed much more to the growth of the project
We have had the happiness and fortune of being able to share the stage with bands such as: CARCASS, JUDAS PRIEST, BRUJERIA, VITAL REMAINS, DARK FUNERAL, OVERKILL, PLASTILINA MOSH, DLD, MOLOTOV, CARTEL DE SANTA, GET SCARED, UNLEASHED THE ARCHERS , SÖBER, NOCTURNAL DEPRESSION ... and many more
Yes, once we had the opportunity to see it and although our music is more oriented towards another direction, we knew that it was a tape that we had to see.
Vienen de bandas como ‘Criptorium’, ‘Dite’, ‘Percival’, ‘Falling Down’ y ‘Demore’. ¿Qué les aporta esto a su Metal?
Currently we can only say that it was a “necessary” step that we had to take and it helped us grow.
¿Qué recuerdan del ‘Hell and Heaven Metal Fest’?
What that edition left us most was being able to visit some states of the republic with the ROAD TO HELL tour and the experience of being part of one of the largest festivals in all of Latin America.
What is it like to create Death Metal from Zapopan?
Well, more than creating music from a specific geographical point, making music (to remove the label) in this country is technically complicated, it is a highly competitive and low-paid industry, but one that still leaves us satisfied with the work we do.
They are a band that "shows the times of violence and coldness that are lived in the present thanks to politics and diversion of interests." What can you tell me about your lyrics?
We are not only talking about a claim, we are also talking about how love can be a weapon of mass destruction in the wrong hands and with the meaning of that word altered to pleasure.
We are a band that is not pigeonholed into talking about a single specific topic, rather we get carried away by what we feel at the moment, we try to create an identification link with the public in a current, chaotic and brutally distorted environment
What does Swedish and Finnish Death bring you?
It was our first influence when we started to put together the first riffs for the first plate, although now we are already a bit removed from all that sound (or at least we intend to) we cannot deny that it was something that encouraged us to work on making music
Are you planning to collaborate?
Yes, we are currently working on the composition of our new album and we have thought to invite several of our friends to collaborate on the album and perhaps some collaboration that weighs heavily on one of the songs.

What about literature, who are the authors who have influenced you the most?
Definitely for this production, we were reading several things from ISSAC ASIMOV who was considered as "the father of robotics" and who created the 3 laws of robotics.
“Nosotros comemos cadenas y cagamos Metal”, decía Imo Tolkki de ‘Stratovarius’ en el 2004, ¿cómo se comporta Insertion Loss fuera del escenario?
We are quite normal types, in fact several of us "do not consider ourselves metalheads", we like the strong, intense and heavy sounds of the musical, we like to create dense atmospheres and that people identify with that atmosphere, in fact, we like to think that we don't need to “self-label” ourselves to be part of a scene… .if we have a very good reason to make intense music… we will
What is coming for the band?
We continue with some presentations until the end of this year and we hope that at the beginning of next year we can begin to share with our audience the first tracks of our next album
