'The Night of the Beast, film about Iron Maiden launches its first trailer

'The Night of the Beast' is a Colombian-Mexican film that narrates the adventures of two young metalheads in their quest to witness the first show of the legendary British band, Iron maiden, during his first visit to Colombia, to the Simón Bolívar Park in Bogotá in February 2008.

“It is not the typical Colombian film that we see at festivals. It does not meet the usual standards. It does not speak of poverty, violence and death; it's about two teenagers going to a metal concert. Sometimes people don't see these stories as part of our narrative, but for me they are as own as they can be for others. ” says the director of the film, Mauricio Leiva-Cock for Variety.

"We got a note after a test group that the main characters should be tougher and badder, which bothered me because it comes from this bias that a 'metalhead' has to be those things." It is a stereotype that is profoundly false. We work with many metalheads and it is a great group full of everything, but especially very intelligent and self-taught people. That need to make a violent character comes from the idea that Colombians are violent characters, but the truth is that we are not just stereotypes. ”

The film was produced by Fidelio Films with the support of Cine Colombia, the largest cinema chain in the country and although it does not have a set release date yet, it is already in the post-production phase and will feature the greatest successes of the Iron Maiden how 'The Number of the Beast' or 'Run to the Hills'.
