Imperial Triumphant reveal details of their new album, ‘Goldstar’

New Yorkers Imperial Triumphant will release their sixth album, Goldstar, via Century Media Records on March 21.

Her latest single, ‘Lexington Delirium’ (featuring ominous vocals from Meshuggah’s Tomas Haake), is just one example of her songwriting acumen, clocking in at under 5 minutes while retaining her signature musical virtuosity in this homage to classic New York architecture. The official video was shot at the iconic Chrysler Building.

“Ziggurats rise, skyscrapers cry, and the future is born not from the organic but from a cosmic, mechanical womb. It speaks of posterity lost in the congestion of the New Culture, a place where Manhattan’s imposing ambition hides an imminent delirium. The Throne of Lightning becomes both the seat of power and a menacing spectre, begging for salvation from the soulless wave of progress. We climb the art deco tower of the magnificent Chrysler Building to offer you a magnanimous visual experience,” says the band.

Steve Blanco reflects: “Looking up at the building’s stainless steel Egyptian sunbeams, I felt a deep connection to something bigger, a profound resonance with the universe itself. Sharing that moment with my bandmates Zachary and Kenny and everyone involved made it even more fabulous.”

With their upcoming release, Goldstar, the masked triumvirate continues their exploration of the urban and arcane. The band has drawn inspiration from the sound of metal taken to its darkest extremes, gilded art-deco temples and menacing cityscapes. Recorded in early 2024 with longtime collaborator and producer Colin Marston (Gorguts, Krallice), as a final project recorded at Marston’s Menegroth Studios in Queens, the album was made in a whirlwind five days.

“As we recorded the final tracks, the experience felt like the universe was aligning,” the band says. “Colin, who is basically a fourth band member to us, held the space for this transformative moment, offering his incredible artistry and expertise, which only deepened the connection we had with the music. The sound we captured in that sacred space was the crystallization of everything we’ve worked for, and the memories of those sessions will resonate within us for years to come. Music exists as a force beyond infinity.”
