Hokka expand their cinematic saga with “Death By Cupid’s Arrow”

HOKKA release “Death By Cupid’s Arrow,” their second single, pushing their cinematic narrative deeper into themes of heartbreak, betrayal and epic emotion.

The tale of the warrior and the sensei continues to unfold as HOKKA unveil their second single, “Death By Cupid’s Arrow.” Following the strong debut of “In The Darkness,” the new track expands the project’s cinematic universe with heightened emotional weight and epic scope.

Musically, the song balances power and vulnerability, using shifting dynamics to reflect the darker side of love. Rather than romanticizing emotion, “Death By Cupid’s Arrow” portrays love as a wound — a betrayal that cuts deep and lingers. The composition reinforces this theme through dramatic arrangements and an intense vocal delivery.

The single arrives alongside a striking new music video that brings the next chapter of the story vividly to life. Through bold visuals and dramatic storytelling, the video strengthens HOKKA’s identity as a project where music and narrative are inseparable, forming a cohesive artistic vision.

Both “In The Darkness” and “Death By Cupid’s Arrow” have already been performed on Finnish national television during the country’s main New Year’s broadcast. The appearance introduced HOKKA to a nationwide audience and marked a major milestone for the band. According to Joel Hokka, the song captures love’s uglier side — whether it’s Cupid’s arrow to the chest or a knife in the back, the pain remains the same as a broken heart slowly drowns.
