Health and Chelsea Wolfe release new single, 'Mean'

Health has unveiled ‘Mean’, their new single featuring Chelsea Wolfe. The powerful and immersive track had its world premiere during the #NewMusicFriday livestream on The Needle Drop’s Twitch channel and is now available globally via Loma Vista Recordings.

Produced by Stint (Oliver Tree, Demi Lovato) and mixed by Lars Stalfors (SALEM, The Neighbourhood), Mean’ combines Health’s signature industrial edge with Chelsea Wolfe’s soaring vocals, adding her ethereal touch to an alternative anthem steeped in tension and emotion.

‘Mean’ is Health’s first release following their collaboration with Filter on ‘FREE TO DIE’, included on Rat Wars Ultra Edition, the deluxe version of their critically acclaimed 2023 album, Rat Wars. In addition to the track with Filter, the group has also released collaborations with Lauren Mayberry (Ashamed) and Bad Omens (The Drain), as well as a Lamb of God remix of ‘Laid To Rest’, included on the 20th anniversary edition of Ashes Of The Wake (Epic Records/Legacy Recordings).

The song marks Chelsea Wolfe’s first release since her critically acclaimed 2024 album, She Reaches Out to She Reaches Out to She, which The New Yorker said “expands gothic sounds and themes beyond the genre’s boundaries.” Chelsea Wolfe completed this trilogy with two complementary EPs: Undone, a collection of remixes from artists including ††† (Crosses), Boy Harsher, and Full of Hell, and Unbound, a rawer, more essential take on the same themes. Together, the three releases explore the nature of change and the cycles that transform us, like the phases of the moon.

Chelsea Wolfe will continue touring throughout the fall. This spring, she'll perform at the Cruel World Festival in Los Angeles, then head to Australia and New Zealand on a solo tour, and in September, she'll join Wardruna on their North American tour.
