Chino Moreno, vocalist of Deftones spoke briefly with Tim "Herb" Alexanderdrummer Primus on your podcast 'Herb's Happy Hour'on the band's new album, which - in his words, will be available in September.
“We have an album that we finished - I don't know exactly - about a month ago, we finally have the final mix. It is supposed to come out, I think, in September. But we are very happy to be working with Terry Date a producer that we know a long time ago and who made our first three albums. We hadn't made an album with him in a long time, but we went back to work with him and it was incredible.
It was all a bit strange, as we recorded the album last summer in Los Angeles, and since then we've been working on overdubs, vocals, mixes and all that sort of thing, and it's been almost a year since then. Obviously, the last few months we have been working remotely for the pandemic. Well, I almost did everything myself, because all the musical parts were finished, only the voices were missing, to go to mix and master, it was a coming and going. But we finally finished everything, that is, just a few weeks ago, maybe a month. It's great. I am very excited."
