Cellar Darling, despite being a young band —formed on June 7, 2016— that is taking off again and that is made up of three former members of Eluveite (Anna Murphy, Ivo Henzi and Merlin Sutter), He proved to have a fairly faithful and broad Mexican fanbase, who managed to fill the venue and chant his most successful songs so far on his two plates.
We arrived at Indie Rocks!, where we started to see red-bone fans wearing the band's official merch ready to experience the first tour of their latest album ‘The Spell’.
Matherya, was the band in charge of warming up the engines of the Swiss concert, who had a good audience during the forty minutes they played, but in the last songs, you already started to see the venue full and it was time to get a good place for the entrance of Cellar Darling.
The boys of Cellar, they went out to arrange their instruments, who were immediately received by a roar of applause and screams, took a few minutes to get everything ready and be able to return to the stage to start the long-awaited night for the Mexicans.
The lights went out and the three members entered the stage along with reddish lights with ‘Pain’, song from their most recent album, followed by ‘Death’, ‘Love’ y ‘The Spell’. Most of the attendees were singing them! something that fascinated the members of the band, who addressed the audience happily for such a warm reception.
The evening continued with songs like ‘Insomnia’, ‘Black Moon’ (one of the favorites), ‘Starcrusher’, ‘Challenge’, ‘Redemption’ What a vocal skill of Anna Murphy! in each of the songs he had a perfect intonation and power that left us all open-mouthed, in addition to the multiple instruments he was playing on stage, the keyboard, flute and his very representative ‘Zanfona’. There is no doubt that beauty and talent are perfectly accompanied.
‘Estamos muy agradecidos de estar aquí esta noche, les quiero contar algo importante para nosotros, es algo sobre Spotify, y no les voy a mencionar nada sobre estadísticas o cosas aburridas, pero ¿saben cuál es el país que está en la posición número uno que escucha nuestras canciones? ¡México! Muchas gracias por permitirnos estar aquí y recibirnos con tanto amor’
Anna Murphy turned to her Mexican fans
We had a little encore en el que los chicos regresaron para cerrar con piezas de su primer álbum ‘This Is The Sound’ (2017). They followed up with ‘Six Days’ To end with the most acclaimed: ‘Avalanche’, a song that everyone sang along with Murphy.
Without a doubt, this is one of the emerging bands of the folk, with members with a very good track record, with a great future in store for them. We hope to have you again in our country! [penci_review]
