The collaborations between the great personalities of music are every day a more latent reality, regardless of the genre in question. On this occasion, those who decided to unite their respective talents are Dero Goi, leader of the veteran German band Neue Deutsche Härte Oomph! and Chris Harms, the voice behind Lord of the Lost, to give life to Die Kreatur, a musical entity that is not far from the industrial and goth side that both have explored throughout their careers.

'Panoptikum' is the name of the debut album of Die Kreatur and it seeks to immerse, at least within the concept in the first years of the last century, all within very powerful riffs that reveal the intention of the album from the very beginning with the song of the same name, 'Die Kreatur' and they do not stop, but rather increase in intensity in 'Kälter als der Tod', a story of a vampire who begs his beloved to allow himself to become an immortal being. Oh, komm ich küss' dich ein letzes Mal / Denn mein Kuss macht dich unsterblich.

Until now, it is noteworthy that the presence of Dero Goi stands out much more and we could even say that it reduces the participation of Harms to that of a chorus girl and it's up to the third song, 'Unzertrennlich ' than Chris it comes out and they make a much more notable duet. The power is lowered a bit this time around, but it's replaced by a super sticky synth line that takes the entire song to second place with the other instruments.

'Durch die Nacht' It is the first power ballad on the disc and although it is well done, there is not much to highlight about it. Like several of the songs on the album, it could be a song from any album by Oomph! from the Wahrheit oder Pflicht onwards and that is the biggest sin that the debut album of Die KreaturWhat is the reason for doing an alternative project that is going to sound basically the same as your main band and avoid taking risks that you would not take in that band and it ends up sounding too similar?

The relative tranquility in which the previous song had left us ends with 'Zwei 100%', that recovers power and does it through riffs and is very reminiscent of the most electronic industrial, the one that reminds us of bands like KMFDM. Great material for the clubs and the hand of Chris Harms. The same electronic sound comes back to light a little later with 'Mensch / Maschine' but in a more crushing sense.

And when you think that the theme of the album will not change, it arrives 'Schlafes Braut', another ballad but much darker, with sinister choirs and a hypnotizing rhythm; a macabre waltz that will stay in your mind for a long time and that we can assure will be one of the most celebrated by fans, especially those that come from Lord of the Lost, like 'Untergang' a more powerful song but without too much to really highlight.

'Glück Auf!' It is a return to tranquility and for some reason it reminds us a lot of the structure of a reggae song and with a nice accordion ending, very different from the most explosive 'Benutz Mich'. And to finish, we have 'Gott Verdammt' which perfectly combines the hard guitars with the sounds of a monumental organ. It is a good closure, not great, but good.

'Panoptikum' is exactly what you can expect from the union of Dero Goi and Chris Harms, no more no less. It is not the experimental album that changes the course of industrial music or anything like that, but it is not that we expected it. Both have managed to merge their talents in a formidable way to give us a fulfilling album, very pleasant and that despite falling into common places that we all already know in their main projects, we are sure that they will leave their fans happy.

'Panoptikum' will be available from May 22 through Napalm Records.
