Legendary Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour returns to the big screen with a concert film documenting his remarkable live performance at Rome’s Circus Maximus, as part of his 2024 Luck and Strange tour. This exclusive theatrical event will screen in Mexico through Cinépolis’ +QUE CINE program, with limited showings on September 17 and 21.
Directed by Gavin Elder —who previously collaborated with Gilmour on Remember That Night (2007) and Live at Pompeii (2017)— the film captures the triumphant return of the British musician to the stage after nearly a decade away. Set amid the ruins of the Circus Maximus, the concert features a setlist that blends new material with timeless classics.
Gilmour performs songs from his new album Luck and Strange, including Between Two Points alongside his daughter Romany Gilmour, as well as beloved Pink Floyd staples such as Sorrow, High Hopes, Breathe, Time, Wish You Were Here and Comfortably Numb. The setting is both intimate and monumental, reflecting the emotional depth of Gilmour’s performance.
The Luck and Strange tour only visited five cities—London, Los Angeles, New York, Berlin and Rome—with all twenty-three dates selling out instantly. With no further shows announced, this concert film offers a rare opportunity to witness the grandeur of Gilmour live, projected in cinemas with full theatrical sound.
David Gilmour is widely regarded as one of the most influential guitarists in progressive rock history. Since joining Pink Floyd in 1968, he has been central to landmark albums like The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall, shaping a melodic, atmospheric sound that continues to inspire generations. This screening is a celebration of that enduring legacy.
