Chelsea Wolfe announces the final chapter in her She Reaches Out trilogy with a stripped-back acoustic EP titled Unbound, out November 15 via Loma Vista, and shares a video for “Place In The Sun (Unbound).”
In line with Unbound, Chelsea Wolfe will be performing these songs in a naked version in select U.S. cities in December.
In Chelsea Wolfe’s She Reaches Out trilogy, three voices resonate through time, weaving between past, present, and future. Their music becomes a journey of transformation, evolving with each step, yet remaining deeply rooted in its origin. Together, these three works form a cohesive tapestry woven from threads of memory, moment, and possibility. At the center sits She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She, anchored in the present. Next up is Undone, which reimagines the dark landscapes of She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She, re-forming each track into something both familiar and profoundly new, featuring artists like ††† (Crosses), Boy Harsher, Full of Hell, and more. Though disintegrated and reformed, the songs still retain the essence of where they began.
On Unbound, Chelsea Wolfe strips the songs on She Reaches Out to their purest essence: just her voice, a guitar or piano, capturing vulnerability and unfiltered truth. The music here is primal, like freshly turned earth. The songs are laid bare, naked and unadorned, each track a rite of passage, a dive deep into the heart. In this raw landscape, a cover of Spiritbox’s “Cellar Door” concludes the EP, fitting seamlessly into the triptych’s meditation on transformation and letting go.
Wolfe’s She Reaches Out trilogy is a contemplation on the nature of change. It invites us to reach out across time, to grasp the threads of what was and what could be, and to find strength in the act of becoming.
