German symphonic metal band formed in 2014 and led by Jennifer Haben, will release their new studio album 'HØRIZØNS'on June 19, and we had the opportunity to listen exclusively. This new album is made up of thirteen songs, and we will tell you what you can expect from this release.
We start with 'Horizons', album title, who from the first second surprises us with the melodious voice of Jennifer Haben. that catches you from the first second that opens what awaits us on the album. And he welcomes us to this release with a pretty upbeat song, both vocals and riffs.
'Misery' It starts very pop, a typical song that we can listen to in some strawberry bar, something unexpected from a symphonic metal band, but it is only the intro, then it recovers the subgenre with the passage of the song, although with quite generic riffs, you could say which is the ballad of the album. We continue with 'Wounded Healer', now it is symphonic to everything it gives, in addition to having the collaboration of the magnificent Elize Ryd (Amaranthe).
'Some Kind Of Monster', is a little more of the same, with somewhat generic and predictable lyrics. We recovered the album's strength with 'Human', which I consider one of the best songs on the album. The hype is increasing, 'Golden Pariahs' It is added as another of the best pieces of this release, this is the line that this band must maintain.
'Marching On' receives us with the voice of Chris Hermsdofer, guitarist of the band, undoubtedly makes a quite friendly variable on the album by leaving him as the main protagonist of the song with support in the chorus of Jennifer. We continue with 'You're Not Alone', the album gets better and better and the direction and style of the band become more noticeable.
We continue with another ballad from the album with 'Out Of The Ashes'. With 'Paralyzed' we recover the strength of the album, a good choice after a ballad, as well as being one of the most catchy songs on the album.
'Coming Home', another of the album's strengths to give rise to one more ballad 'I Won't Surrender' with beautiful violin touches. And to close the album 'Welcome to my Wasteland' accumulate ALL the energy we hope to receive with this band defending the banner of the symphony.
