After four years, the Finns Apocalyptic finally they decided to record a new album and also, going back to the roots of the project, leaving aside the idea of having a ground singer as they did in 'Shadowmaker'from 2015 and concentrating purely on the sound of their instruments. The result of this is 'Cell-0'.
The album opens grandly with ' Ashes of the Modern World', a masterpiece that by its name alone seems to describe the times we live in at the moment in full warfare. He begins calmly, formally, solemnly and gradually transforms himself into a beast full of energy and military marches that announce humanity's desire for destruction.
After the explosion, we move on to calmer themes with the song that gives the album its name, which in its almost ten minutes duration gives us a rise and fall of emotions within a progressive vortex that breaks with the beginning of 'Rise', a much calmer and more reflective theme, made for you to relax in your chair while having a glass of wine with the lights off.

The fact that cellos are the main instrument within the coffers of Apocalyptic, does not leave out the brutality - under the precepts of the band, of course - in his music and reflects it in themes like 'On Route to Mayhem' which served as the first single from the album. However, the power does not last long and the revs drop again at 'Call My Name' a somewhat repetitive theme and not too outstanding if we compare it with the other works on the album.
'Fire & Ice' It is an ode to the duality of life and includes the participation of Troy Donockley from Nightwish, starting calm and subtle until it explodes more or less halfway through the song, but falling again a little later, quite the opposite of 'Scream for the Silent ' or 'Catharsis'that have with them a much more noticeable power. The album closes tremendously with 'Beyond The Stars', of which we can only say that it is the most epic theme that the band has performed in its entire career.
Apocalyptic It is no longer a new band. With more than two decades of career under his belt, so his music is already - to put it somehow - surprise yourself. We already know what we can expect from them, but we also know that what we can expect from them can be wonderful as in the case of 'Cello-0', an album full of overwhelming and mesmerizing melodies that is worth listening to.
'Cell-0' he claps his hands and shows us that a voice is not necessary to capture our attention.
