SYSTEM OF A DOWN will commemorate the centennial of the Armenian Genocide

The band has not spoken about the possibility of a new album.

On April 24, 1915, the Ottoman Empire began the Armenian Holocaust, an attempt to remove any trace of the Armenian population from the face of the earth, leaving behind between one and a half and two million people dead. 100 years later, the members of system of a Down They are not willing to forget -or let others do it- and they will commemorate the event with a new tour that will be named ‘Wake Up the Souls’ and that will begin on April 10, 2015 at the Wembley Arena in London and will end on April 24, 2015 in the Republic Square of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.

“Para nosotros como banda es un sueño tocar en Armenia” says the vocalist Serj Tankian. “Poder tocar en la tierra de nuestros antepasados mientras respetamos la memoria de todos aquellos que perecieron en el primer genocidio del siglo XX es un honor.”
