Latest albums of Whitechapel 'Our Endless War' and 'Mark of the Blade' marked the evolution of the band deathcore to integrate small changes, it is remarkable the incredible skill of Phil for gutturals lows and highs, like her clean voice, something you will hear prominently on her seventh album: 'The Valley'. In which they have perfected their unique stamp of brutality, although we cannot expect an album like 'This Is Exile' entirely by the evolution that Whitechapel It has been experienced for the past five years.

The album starts with 'When A Demon Deflies A Witch', the first seconds of the song invite you to feel a relaxing environment and then burst into all the brutality that characterizes Whitechapel, and halfway through the song we can perceive the incredible clean voice of Phil Bozeman, which has taken an important place throughout this album. And with those nuances to start, it's a great intro to the album.

Whitechapel by Alex Morgan

We continue with 'Forgiveness is Weakness', where the gutturals that everyone expects are protagonists of the song, along with those riffs that have kept the fans of deathcore faithful, afterwards perfect riffs explode accompanied by a brutal growl with 'Brimstone'.

We come to the strongest song on the album lyrically speaking: Hickory Creek, same that a few months ago released a video. This song keeps almost entirely the clean voice of Phil, which tells the story of his mother, who died of abuse of harmful substances. This episode that Phil He lived in his childhood from its beginning introduces you to history and the occasional tear can run on your face ...

We have another quiet intro, but perfectly executed with 'Black Bear'As expected, it does not take many seconds to explode in the characteristic energy of the band, and of course, lows that make anyone's skin tingle, continuing with 'We Are One', which contains some very good solos followed by Some highs that stand out among the entire composition of the song, and almost to finish we have some whispers: 'We are one, we are weakness', another guideline that marks that the lyrical content of 'The Valley' goes beyond just random thoughts , is an album with a deeper meaning.
The journey continues with 'The Other Side' and 'Third Depth', which continue to maintain the line marked since the beginning of the album, but the latter allows us to enjoy again the unquestionably beautiful clean voice of Bozeman until you get to the choirs, which between the lyrics and their changes to growls take you to the imaginary of the story behind the song.
'Lovelace', is a desperate cry for help, to find the way again and more importantly, to oneself, it is the penultimate song on the album, where the band's followers will be grateful that they follow the line of their beginnings musically speaking.

To close with the tenth song on the album 'Doom woods', it leaves a very good taste in your mouth to finish the album.
