Architects, the metalcore band originally from Brighton, England, reported earlier today that unfortunately after three years of fighting cancer, the guitarist Tom Searle He has passed away at 28 years of age. This was published by Dan Searle, his brother and drummer from the same band.

He was a great songwriter and guitar player. He was my closest and oldest friend. He was a funny, intelligent and sweet man, who leaves a huge hole in all our lives.
Many of you may have noticed that Tom was absent from various shows over the past 15 months and now I can tell you that it was because he underwent many surgeries to treat his cancer. When we left our European tour on June 2, he was in bad shape. He had been warned that he must stay in the hospital for care, but lately, there was nothing they could do to help him, so he left his room two days before we traveled to Germany. Many will think this was reckless, but it is the way Tom wanted to do things, not allowing cancer to come between him and what he loved. He got on stage and performed his last shows at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park, which gave him a lot of strength and they are shows that we will never forget.
We canceled our tour of the United States and Europe on June 8, as Tom was very ill in Luxembourg, we called an ambulance and transferred him to the emergency room. A day later, he was induced into a coma, from which the doctors warned us that they would not be able to remove him. Five days later, against all odds, Tom woke up. We both canceled the air ambulance that would take him home and together we took the train. Tom Searle classic.

For now, the band has not decided what to do with their future, but they have declared that they have no intention of releasing any music, until they are sure that it would be something that Tom would be proud of. Architects will finish the dates already agreed in the United Kingdom and Australia, to later think about what is to come.
