Things continue to be bad for As I Lay Dying and its singer, Tim Lambesis who through a statement published on his social networks has revealed that he has asked his wife for a divorce after three years of marriage and also accuses her of abuse and domestic violence.
“There is currently a restraining order and domestic violence investigation underway against Dany Norris (formerly Lambesis). Everything she is saying now is to distract people from focusing on my own inappropriate (but not illegal) reactions to these interactions that caused me to have anxiety attacks.
This woman assaulted and abused me verbally and mentally for three years. Yesterday I took the much needed step of leaving her by serving her with divorce papers. That is why there have been attempts at retaliation against me on the internet today that pale in comparison to what will actually be the focus of the courts.
The following evidence is part of the case:
- Multiple videos of her assaulting me.
- Videos of her chasing me around the house with a knife or scissors.
- Video of her insisting that I delete all other accounts of her physically assaulting me by threatening to beat me up, with a gun pointed at my head.
- Photos of a black eye that left me.
- Conversations where she threatened me if I tried to leave her.
I am sure she will fight back by trying to expose my anxiety-filled reactions and defenses, but remember that reacting in panic by hurting me is very different from what I mentioned above. These public online attacks are because I served her with divorce papers yesterday after many days of her begging me to stay while also trying to exert abusive control over me. This is clearly retaliation for me finally leaving a relationship that I should have run away from a long time ago.”
Tim Lambesis has a history of toxic relationships in the past. On May 7, 2013, Lambesis was arrested while shopping at a Barnes & Noble in Oceanside, California and was charged with attempting to hire a hitman to kill his ex-wife, Meggan Murphy Lambesis.
Lambesis was sentenced to 6 years in prison, of which he only served half, and was finally released in February 2017.
