The Requiem, a South Florida alternative rock band consisting of Damien [vocals], Felipe [lead guitar], and Salem [bass], will release his debut album A Cure to Poison the World on February 16 via Fearless Records.
Today, the band has presented the lyric video for their latest single, 'Kill The Lights'.
“'Kill The Lights' is about the feeling of resentment and disgust for the environment that some of us feel at an early age, the people and difficult situations in which we have grown up without realizing it,” says the band.
Regarding the album as a whole, the band sees it as a catalyst to connect directly with fans. “I want people to really be able to relate to the music,” says Damien. “It's the same way I felt like my favorite artists spoke for me.” Felipe shares the sentiment and says, “Our goal is to present ourselves in our purest form. The themes of these songs reference growing up, the struggles of becoming an adult, and the lessons we have learned.”
“We want to represent our generation in the best way possible,” exclaims Damien. “Rock music has lost the carelessness and vulgarity it used to have. When you're young, you need to accept that attitude and that danger. “We want to bring all that back to alternative music.”
