THE JOTUNN unleash new single “Blood Flower” — a crushing return of horror-fueled extremity

THE JOTUNN return with “Blood Flower,” a crushing single merging Swedish melodeath grooves and blackened deathcore intensity, accompanied by a horror-inspired video.

Extreme metal outfit THE JOTUNN have returned with their first new music since 2024’s Summoner EP, unveiling the ferocious single “Blood Flower.” The track captures the band’s natural sonic evolution, merging Swedish melodeath grooves with the relentless intensity of blackened deathcore.

Guitarist Shawn Kahan, who first penned the track, explained: “This was our real attempt at pushing everything we love about extreme music to the next level. Cole [Martinez] really elevated it with his production, and it sounds absolutely massive. We’ve never been happier with a song.”

Beyond its music, “Blood Flower” is also a storytelling piece, interwoven with a short horror narrative written by vocalist Paul Kahan. Its chilling concept is brought vividly to life in a new music video directed by Tom Stumpf, which blends cinematic visuals with the track’s unyielding aggression.
