On August 22nd, Pittsburgh-based deathcore band Signs of the Swarm will release their highly anticipated sixth studio album, To Rid Myself of Truth. As a final preview before the full album drops, the group has unveiled the official video for the title track—a raw, crushing piece that sets the tone for what’s to come.
Drummer Bobby Crow shared that the song was born from a conversation with vocalist David Simonich about returning to their most primal and aggressive roots. “I wanted some straight-up knuckle-dragging, slack-jaw shit. It felt like the perfect way to open the record and say we’re not here to mess around.”
Simonich noted that the track features “the heaviest breakdown on the record—maybe tied with the closer, ‘Creator.’” He also highlighted a standout lyric inspired by the recent Nosferatu film: “The shrieks of two, the screams of one, the cries of none.”
With a relentless blend of technical brutality, dark atmospheres, and visceral themes, To Rid Myself of Truth is poised to solidify Signs of the Swarm’s place as one of the fiercest forces in modern deathcore.
