Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe lashes out at Trump, ICE, and urges resistance to authoritarianism

Randy Blythe delivers a blunt message against Donald Trump and ICE, condemning raids, state-sponsored cruelty, and warning against the normalization of fascism.

Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe once again took a firm political stance with a public statement aimed at Donald Trump, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and what he describes as the dangerous normalization of authoritarianism.

The message was sparked by the hardening of political rhetoric and immigration policies carried out by ICE, particularly raids, detentions, and mass deportations. Blythe condemned what he sees as institutional violence against vulnerable communities and criticized those in power who defend or enable these actions.“Fuck the fascists. Do not comply,” Blythe wrote, making his position unmistakably clear. In his statement, the vocalist rejected any form of passive obedience, warning that compliance allows authoritarian systems to take root.

"A la mierda los fascistas. No obedezcan”, escribió el cantante, dejando clara su postura ante lo que describe como un avance alarmante del autoritarismo. En su mensaje, Blythe fue explícito al rechazar cualquier forma de colaboración pasiva con este tipo de sistemas.

He went on to directly call out ICE and other power structures, stating: “ICE and all the other scumbags… this is state-sponsored cruelty.” According to Blythe, these actions are not only morally indefensible, but become especially dangerous when they are accepted as normal.

In another part of his message, Blythe emphasized that normalization is the real threat. Accepting such policies without resistance, he argued, is how authoritarianism historically gains ground. Silence, indifference, and blind obedience, in his view, have repeatedly enabled the worst abuses of power.

The Lamb of God frontman stressed that his stance is not about party politics, but about ethics. For Blythe, calling out dehumanization, institutional violence, and fascist rhetoric is a personal responsibility, particularly when one has a public platform.

These remarks align with Blythe’s long-standing role as one of the most outspoken political voices in modern metal. Throughout his career, he has consistently addressed issues such as police brutality, social inequality, abuse of power, and moral accountability, both in interviews and through Lamb of God’s music.
