Puscifer unveil “ImpetuoUs” as a final glimpse into their new album’s universe

Puscifer release “ImpetuoUs,” the third and final preview of Normal Isn’t, a record shaped by rawness, dark humor and a sharply observant worldview.

To kick off the year, Puscifer have released “ImpetuoUs,” the third and final preview of their upcoming album Normal Isn’t. The track acts as a thematic bridge into the full record, reinforcing the band’s blend of tension, introspection and unconventional storytelling.

According to Maynard James Keenan, the song is intentionally open-ended. He describes the creative process as building a structure whose ultimate purpose is defined not by its creators, but by those who inhabit it. This philosophy underpins Normal Isn’t, positioning the album as an interpretive space rather than a fixed statement.

The release is accompanied by a visualizer that introduces “Tales From The Pusciverse,” a comic book series expanding the band’s fictional world. The debut issue centers on Bellendia Black, a character previously introduced in the “Pendulum” video, signaling that Normal Isn’t extends beyond music into a broader narrative experience.

Written and recorded across Arizona, Los Angeles and while on the road during the Sessanta tour, Normal Isn’t embraces a looser, more aggressive creative approach. Blending dark electronics, sharper guitar work and Puscifer’s signature wit, the album reflects a world that feels increasingly disjointed. With notable guest musicians and a concept-driven framework, Normal Isn’t stands as one of the band’s most pointed and timely releases to date.
