The multi-dimensional collective Puscifer — featuring Maynard James Keenan, Mat Mitchell, and Carina Round — have announced their long-awaited new album Normal Isn’t, set for release on February 6, 2026, via Puscifer Entertainment/Alchemy Recordings/BMG.
The record embraces the post-punk and goth roots that shaped the members’ early musical experiences while venturing into darker, more guitar-driven territory. “We’re definitely leaning into our early influences,” shares Keenan. “It’s the place where goth meets punk. It’s where I came from.”
The band previewed the album with the single “Self Evident”, accompanied by a video filmed during a special live event at Exchange L.A., where they performed the album in full for an intimate audience.
Written and recorded across Arizona, Los Angeles, and on the road during the Sessanta tour, Normal Isn’t blends Puscifer’s dark electronic edge with a newfound spontaneity. “We ditched the guard rails and made the music more aggressive,” says Mitchell, who co-produced the record.
This time, Keenan took a more direct role in songwriting, building complete song ideas on his own before sharing them with Mat and Carina. “Maynard was showing us his vision rather than just describing it,” explains Round. “In Puscifer, ideas morph constantly — it’s creative chaos in the best way possible.”
The album features contributions from Greg Edwards (bass), Gunnar Olsen (drums), Sarah Jones (drums), and special guests Tony Levin and Danny Carey.
Pre-orders are now available for vinyl, CD, cassette, and digital formats, with several exclusive color variants. Puscifer will support the album with a North American tour starting March 20 in Las Vegas and ending at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, with stops at Terminal 5 (NYC) and Red Rocks Amphitheatre (CO).
Normal Isn’t reaffirms Puscifer’s role as one of modern rock’s most innovative acts — blending wit, darkness, and sonic experimentation into a statement as bold as it is timely.
