Poppy has announced her upcoming album Empty Hands, set for release on January 23, 2026 via Sumerian Records. The record marks a bold new chapter in her artistic evolution, merging industrial textures, alternative rock, and surrealist pop sensibilities into an emotional sonic storm.
Her first single, “Bruised Sky,” produced and co-written by Jordan Fish, captures raw vulnerability through heavy guitars, hypnotic synth layers, and one of Poppy’s most powerful vocal performances to date. Accompanied by a cinematic video directed by Orie McGinness, the track introduces a darker, more visceral side of the artist, evoking themes of transformation and resilience.
Empty Hands dives deep into the emotional fractures of modern life—examining isolation, identity, and the human need for connection in an increasingly digital world. “Bruised Sky is about destruction and rebirth,” Poppy explains. “It’s about breaking apart to rebuild, and finding light in collapse.”
