Poppy announces new album Empty Hands and releases the striking single “Bruised Sky”

Visionary artist Poppy announces her seventh studio album Empty Hands (January 23, 2026) and unveils the fierce new single “Bruised Sky,” produced by Jordan Fish, blending emotion, power, and modern industrial energy.

Poppy has announced her upcoming album Empty Hands, set for release on January 23, 2026 via Sumerian Records. The record marks a bold new chapter in her artistic evolution, merging industrial textures, alternative rock, and surrealist pop sensibilities into an emotional sonic storm.

Her first single, “Bruised Sky,” produced and co-written by Jordan Fish, captures raw vulnerability through heavy guitars, hypnotic synth layers, and one of Poppy’s most powerful vocal performances to date. Accompanied by a cinematic video directed by Orie McGinness, the track introduces a darker, more visceral side of the artist, evoking themes of transformation and resilience.

Empty Hands dives deep into the emotional fractures of modern life—examining isolation, identity, and the human need for connection in an increasingly digital world. “Bruised Sky is about destruction and rebirth,” Poppy explains. “It’s about breaking apart to rebuild, and finding light in collapse.”

With Empty Hands, Poppy redefines her place in modern music—fearless, enigmatic, and unrestrained.

Following 2024’s Negative Spaces, this new album pushes Poppy’s sound further into hybrid territory, bridging industrial aggression with melodic introspection. Her lyrics and visual storytelling continue to explore the tension between chaos and beauty, vulnerability and strength.

Poppy will embark on her Constantly Nowhere Tour 2026, bringing her unique fusion of performance art, sound design, and theatrical visuals to audiences around the globe.
