Paz Lenchantin announces debut solo album Triste after closing her Pixies chapter

Paz Lenchantin unveils Triste, her debut solo album blending Latin folk and American rock, out October 17 via Hideous Human Records.

After nearly three decades shaping the sound of iconic bands like Pixies (2014–2024), A Perfect Circle, Zwan, and The Entrance Band, bassist, vocalist, and songwriter Paz Lenchantin now takes center stage as a solo artist. On October 17, she will release her debut solo album Triste through her own imprint, Hideous Human Records.

The 12-track record blends Latin folk textures with American rock structures, weaving Paz’s piano and trademark string arrangements around her rock foundations. While she initially performed all instruments herself, she later invited trusted Los Angeles-based musicians, reuniting with A Perfect Circle alumni Josh Freese (drums) and Troy Van Leeuwen (guitar), alongside longtime friend Jeffertiti, who appears on lead single Hang Tough.

The album began taking shape in Petatlán, Mexico, where Paz spent much of 2024 writing songs centered on faith, doubt, and self-discovery—mirroring her own personal journey following her departure from Pixies.

Mixed by Chris Coady (Beach House, Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Triste emerges as a deeply personal and expansive statement, setting the tone for the first chapter of her solo career. “I had to make this record on my own—not to prove anything, but just to have faith that music can nurture me back. And it did,” Lenchantin shares.

With Triste, Paz Lenchantin steps into the spotlight on her own terms, carrying the weight of her storied past while embracing the freedom of a new beginning.
