British doom and gothic metal legends Paradise Lost have unveiled Tyrants Serenade, the third single from their upcoming album Ascension, set for release on September 19 via Nuclear Blast Records. Clocking in at over four minutes, the track stands as an epic and atmospheric new cornerstone in the band’s acclaimed discography.
Frontman Nick Holmes explains that the song explores “the death of an individual and how the changing of the seasons evokes cherished memories. The God of Malevolence acts as an inner voice dismantling those memories and reintroducing the initial pain of loss.”
Musically, Tyrants Serenade blends crushing, heavy riffs with emotive guitar melodies, seamlessly merging clean and harsh vocals to deliver a commanding, anthemic tone. The release is paired with a visually striking video directed by Ash Pears, a longtime collaborator whose work includes HOST, Bloodbath, and Katatonia.
In support of Ascension, the band has also announced a series of intimate signing sessions and a special release show in Leeds, UK. Tickets are now available through the official platform.
