American industrial band Nine Inch Nails have officially announced Nine Inch Noize, a new collaborative album with electronic producer Boys Noize, scheduled for release on April 17, 2026. The project represents a further evolution in the work of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, expanding into more electronic-driven territory.
The album has been designated “Halo 38,” continuing Nine Inch Nails’ long-standing release numbering system. This places the project firmly within the band’s official discography, despite its collaborative nature and stylistic expansion.
The announcement was made via social media and supported by a billboard campaign spotted near Indio, California, aligning with anticipation around their upcoming appearance at Coachella. The project will also debut live as “Nine Inch Noize” at the festival’s Sahara stage on April 11.
The collaboration between Reznor, Ross and Alex Ridha (Boys Noize) has developed over recent years through multiple projects spanning film scoring, remix culture and hybrid live performances. Notable work includes contributions tied to TRON: Ares, further blending cinematic composition with electronic production.
This crossover was already evident during the recent Peel It Back Tour, where Boys Noize joined Nine Inch Nails on stage, creating a hybrid format that merged industrial structures with electronic sequencing. That live dynamic now appears to form the foundation of the new album.
Sonically, Nine Inch Noize is expected to combine the tension and density of Nine Inch Nails’ industrial sound with the high-energy precision of contemporary electro-house. Rather than replacing one style with another, the project aims to integrate both into a cohesive framework.
The release reflects a broader trend within alternative music, where genre boundaries continue to blur. In this case, the collaboration stands not as a one-off experiment, but as a natural extension of an evolving creative partnership.
