Despite being released last year, the most recent production of Nightwish will be barely a month after being put on sale in our country. And many fans didn't wait a moment to get it; and the truth, Who would not like to have a record of this caliber?
Those who had the opportunity to attend one of the concerts of the new Nightwish era will not let me lie: Floor Jansen, vocalist for ReVamp and former member of After Forever, met (and even exceeded) expectations. And Wacken was the place chosen by the band to record their fifth live album, undoubtedly one of the best, fighting even with End of an Era for the first place. The DVD / Blu-Ray released by Nuclear Blast is great.
Floor adds a unique touch that the Finnish group has never seen before. Her presence on stage is much better than Anette's and Tarja's, while her voice perfectly fulfilled the difficult task of combining the best of these two vocalists.. A mixed setlist was what helped demonstrate his vocal quality, with many songs from Nightwish's two best albums: Once (one of the masterpieces and fan favorites, Dark Chest of Wonders; the inevitable Nemo; Ghost Love Score and one of the surprises of the night, Romanticide) e Imagineerum, the album whose tour is named after (Ghost River, Storytime, I Want My Tears Back, Song of Myself, and Last Ride of the Day), in addition to some Wishmaster songs (another of the surprises, She Is My Sin), Century Child (the classic and emotional Ever dream, as well as Bless the Child) and Dark Passion Play (the instrumental Last of the Wilds). Wacken's audience responded very well to the new vocalist and song mix; He did not disappoint at all with his throats chanting each song, clapping along and of course mateing.
As if that were not enough, Troy Donockley adds an extra portion of encouragement to Nightwish, in addition to fitting perfectly into some of the songs and making one of the most beautiful possible: Last of the Wilds. Always with a smile on his face and chatting with Emmpu, Troy is in charge of the flutes, pipes and bagpipes, and has done his work in an excellent way, making Nemo sound even better than it already sounded.
The band has renewed energy with the arrival of Floor and Troy to the official lineup, an energy that has never felt so good, so exciting. The atmosphere that Nightwish lives is very pleasant, something that did not happen when Anette was a member of the band, according to the documentary included in the edition of two DVDs and which is titled "Please Learn The Setlist In 48 Hours". The fans of red bone should get this edition, since the second album not only shows the era of Floor, but also reveals the last days of Anette in the group (who, by the way, put on her bows and insisted that neither neither his voice nor his face were in the documentary).
The sound production of this album is the only thing that leaves a little to be desired. But that is only if they have the CD's, since if they see the concert they completely forget that detail; one is absorbed by the moment and by music, the 6 members are in charge of taking the mind to another universe. Surely those who attended the Metropolitan Theater on November 28 and 29, 2012 will relive every moment of those mythical nights; nights that changed the lives of many.
