Nergal will perform Behemoth's debut album in its entirety… without Behemoth.

Behemoth will perform their debut album Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic) in full at Beyond the Gates 2026 in Bergen, Norway, celebrating its 30th anniversary alongside Icelandic act Misþyrming.

Polish extreme metal legends Behemoth, fronted by Adam “Nergal” Darski, have announced an extraordinary event: a full performance of their debut album Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic) during the Beyond the Gates 2026 festival, taking place July 29 – August 1 in Bergen, Norway. This marks the 30th anniversary of the groundbreaking record that ignited one of the most influential careers in black metal history.

The performance will feature Icelandic black-metal innovators Misþyrming as special guests, adding their own brand of raw intensity to what promises to be a night of ritualistic grandeur. The full-album rendition of Sventevith offers both a journey back to Behemoth’s beginnings and a reimagining of their earliest work through the lens of three decades of artistic evolution.

Originally released in 1995, Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic) fused the ferocity of early black metal with a melodic and atmospheric edge that foreshadowed Behemoth’s later transformation into one of the genre’s most dynamic forces. Its live resurrection stands as both a tribute and a challenge—a reminder that the band continues to push the boundaries of their own mythology.

According to Nergal, this performance represents “a symbolic return to the beginning, carrying with it all the wisdom and scars of our journey through darkness.” Beyond the Gates, now one of Europe’s leading extreme-metal festivals, provides the perfect setting for such a monumental performance, bridging legacy and innovation in a single ritual.
