Germany’s M’era Luna Festival, a cornerstone of the European gothic and dark scene, marks its 25th anniversary with a special release: the song “Dark Heart of the Moon.” Performed by Ordo M’era Luna, a supergroup of iconic voices from the event’s history, the track stands as a musical monument honoring both the artists and fans who have shaped its legacy.
The song is available on a limited golden vinyl and in digital format, accompanied by a symphonic version that expands its epic scope. Produced by Chris Harms, it features celebrated musicians including Tilo Wolff (Lacrimosa), Alexander Veljanov (Deine Lakaien), Alea (Saltatio Mortis), Eric Fish (Subway to Sally), Alex Wesselsky (Eisbrecher), Laura Fella and Oliver Pade (Faun), Peter Spilles (Project Pitchfork), Chris Pohl and Ulrike Goldmann (Blutengel), Chris Harms (Lord Of The Lost), Ambre Vourvahis (Xandria), and Joachim Witt, among many others.
Beyond its musical impact, the release serves a charitable cause: proceeds will be donated to proTeam Himmelsthür, an organization that has partnered with the festival since 2019 to integrate people with disabilities into its workforce. Their responsibilities include keeping the campgrounds clean and, since 2023, supporting attendees with special needs—making them a model of active inclusion within the cultural sector.
Instrumental performances by Corvin Bahn, Chris Harms, Ben Metzner, and Benjamin Mundigler, alongside choir contributions from Stimmgewalt, create a celebratory and communal atmosphere. Lyrics by Anthony J. Brown, Harms, and Metzner encapsulate the unity, history, and passion that define M’era Luna.
With “Dark Heart of the Moon,” the festival not only celebrates a milestone but also reinforces its position as a central gathering for the dark culture community, uniting generations of artists and fans under one anthemic sound.
