Marty Friedman will release his biography, "Dreaming Japanese," as an audiobook.

Following the print release of his autobiography last December, ‘Dreaming Japanese’, guitarist Marty Friedman will release an audiobook version through Recorded Books on June 24th. The audiobook is now available for pre-order on all digital platforms via Amazon here.

Written with veteran music journalist Jon Wiederhorn, Dreaming Japanese chronicles Friedman’s inspiring journey from landing a position as lead guitarist for legendary thrash metal band Megadeth during their peak years to migrating from the United States to Japan, where he became a prominent television figure and a household name in Japanese pop culture, as well as being named an official Japanese Heritage Ambassador.

“I hope people learn that there’s never a ‘right’ way to live life,” Friedman says. “If you feel the need to do something completely crazy, something everyone tells you is impossible, maybe you should listen to it. The normal tendency is to project yourself well, but what I find most interesting is when artists don’t. The humble beginnings, the failures, the total madness—those are the moments that stick in your memory.”
