Knocked Loose takes things to another level with their new single, 'Suffocate'. The explosive, forceful rhythms and chaotic fury are combined with a reggaeton-style dance rhythm, in addition to the participation of Poppy, who approached the band's leader and vocalist Bryan Garristo propose collaboration. “I'm a huge fan of Knocked Loose and I feel honored to be in this one,” says Poppy.
The collaboration inspired the band to venture into uncharted realms, in which Garris and Poppy trade verses about, as Garris puts it, “someone stabbing you in the back.” “It was a lot of fun because his voice allowed us to broaden our horizon and do some weird, wacky things that maybe we wouldn't do on another song,” guitarist Isaac Hale says of the song. “We felt like having Poppy’s voice involved allowed us to push the boundaries of what we thought was feasible.”
The band's new album, 'You Won't Go Before You're Supposed to' will be available starting next May 10 through Pure Noise Records.
“On this album, we're going faster than ever; we had the scariest thing we have ever experienced. We also make the catchiest, most melodic thing we've ever made, and that's the point,” says guitarist Isaac Hale. “Instead of branching out in one specific direction, we want to cover all directions.”
