Jerry Cantrell’s highly anticipated new album, ‘I Want Blood’, arrives next Friday, and today we have one final preview available with the release of the album’s title track, which you can listen to below.
The song opens with a menacing bass line from Duff McKagan, accompanied by a driving drum beat from Mike Bordin. The song was co-produced, as was the album, by Cantrell and Joe Barresi (Tool, Queens of the Stone Age, Melvins).
“This album exudes confidence,” Cantrell explains. “I think it’s one of my best songs and performances, and certainly one of my best vocal performances. There are huge parts of this record where I felt like my face was at the edge of my capabilities, functioning at the peak of my ability.”
