Helloween launches into space with epic single ‘Universe (Gravity For Hearts)’

Helloween releases Universe (Gravity For Hearts), an epic 8.5-minute journey blending virtuosity and cosmic storytelling.

German power metal legends Helloween have left behind the high-octane energy of This Is Tokyo to embark on a far more ambitious journey: outer space. Their new single, Universe (Gravity For Hearts), written by guitarist Sascha Gerstner, is a cinematic composition that explores the infinite mystery of the cosmos, reflecting on the connection between all things and the strength to overcome life’s greatest challenges.

Gerstner explains the concept, stating that “everything in the universe is connected, and what may appear to be infinite stars could in fact be moments, hearts, and decisions.”

Opening with atmospheric guitar tones and Michael Kiske’s soaring, emotive vocals, the song quickly bursts into a storm of guitars, bass, and drums that propel its 8.5-minute runtime. Staying true to Helloween’s unmistakable style, it fuses speed, melody, and instrumental virtuosity into a full-speed escape from the everyday.

The track features relentless drumming, intergalactic guitar tapping, and a stunning solo, securing its place alongside the band’s most iconic extended compositions, such as Halloween, Keeper of the Seven Keys, and Skyfall (2021).

With Universe (Gravity For Hearts), Helloween not only looks toward the future but also reinforces their legacy as one of metal’s most creative and enduring forces.
