Heilung has announced that after several years of touring almost all over the world, it has decided to temporarily retire from the stage to take a break and return at some point, stronger. The duration of this break was not revealed.
“Life is a journey and all journeys end at some point. After several years of extensive touring, Heilung decided to retire for a while,” a statement from the band reads. “Heilung’s work has strong notions of traditional shamanism. Shamans retreat, sometimes for long periods of time, to reunite with their power, with their spirits; to recharge. If they worked constantly, they would burn out, lose touch with themselves, with the entities that help them, and with their light. Now Heilung is retiring. He will disappear from the stage, the drums will fall silent, and the ecstatic dancing will be over. He will go to sleep, rest for a while, and come back stronger than ever.”
Before hanging up his drums, Heilung will have one last tour with The Hu across Europe, which will conclude on August 17, 2025 at a secret location.
