Fleshgod Apocalypse announce new studio album, 'Opera'

The Italians Fleshgod Apocalypse return with Opera, their sixth album, a monumental work inspired by the near-death experience of Francesco Paoli, vocalist and creative mind of the band.

Set for release on August 23rd via Nuclear Blast Records, Operatranscends the traditional concept of an album. They are ten interconnected musical acts, a visceral journey that evokes the Italian operatic tradition and fuses it with the characteristic brutality of Fleshgod Apocalypse.

The first single, Pendulum, is now available.

Grammy winner Jacob Hansen's impeccable production enhances the band's unique sound: a sonic tapestry that weaves sonic violence, majestic orchestrations and captivating melodies.

The cover art, conceived by Felicita Fiorini and Francesco Esposito, is a masterpiece in itself. Inspired by the baroque aesthetics of Caravaggio and Gentileschi, it portrays Veronica, the personification of music, triumphing over the decadence of the modern era.

With Opera, the band not only raises the level of Symphonic Death Metal, but also inaugurates a new musical field: “Opera Metal” , an unprecedented fusion of musical extremes with theatrical elements.

Pain, no matter how bitter it is, is the source of the best stories,” declares Francesco Paoli, opening his heart about the storm that inspired Opera, the new album by Fleshgod Apocalypse.“We transform a devastating experience into a visceral work of art, a reflection of our personal and musical growth.”

“We prepare an immersion in a whirlwind of emotions. Pain, fear, despair, but also courage, hope and the search for redemption,” describes the vocalist.“It is a testament to human resilience, and I hope it inspires those who have lost their way.”
