This weekend the Wacken Open Air; famous massive metal festival taking place in Germany. More than 70,000 people gathered to witness the most important rock and metal event worldwide.
But, the note was not given by Judas Priest, Red Hot Chili Peppers or Running wild, but by a couple of old men ... Yes! A couple of old men !!
A rather curious anecdote was raised in the 2018 edition of said festival. They are two elderly people, who live in an asylum in the Dithmarschen town in Germany, who escaped from their rooms to attend the international event.
Later, inside the nursing home, they noticed the absence of the two men, so they immediately notified the authorities to try to find the whereabouts of the older adult adventurers.
According to local press, they were found among the thousands of attendees at Wacken. The police reported that they were found "disoriented and stunned", but yes: very happy and enjoying the event.
Inviting them to withdraw and head to the elderly compound, they flatly refused as they wanted to continue to witness the bands performing at the German festival.
After several attempts, the old metalheads agreed to leave the place in a taxi that the asylum authorities sent to transport them back. They were also escorted by a police patrol.
Although it is not known how they escaped from the place where they have their stay, this fact was marked as a peculiar anecdote. With this it is clear that age is not an impediment to being a fan of good music.
At least these old men can die peacefully for having fulfilled the dream of thousands but of millions of metal fanatics.
