Marilyn Manson's sexual assault and violence investigation dropped

The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, California, has decided that after four years of accusations, it will not file charges against Brian Warner, better known as Marilyn Manson for the allegations of sexual assault and abuse against him.

According to information released by prosecutor Nathan Hochman, the charges against Manson have expired due to the time that has passed since the events and it is impossible to prove them.

“We recognize and applaud the courage and resilience of the women who came forward to make allegations and share their experiences, and we thank them for their cooperation and patience with the investigation,” reads the official statement from the prosecutor’s office. “While we are unable to file charges in this case, we recognize that the steadfast advocacy of the women involved has helped raise greater awareness of the challenges faced by survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault. We also recognize and commend them for making an important contribution to extending the statute of limitations for domestic abuse prosecution locally and across the country.”

Following the news, Manson's attorney commented: “We are very pleased that after an exhaustive and incredibly lengthy review of all the actual evidence, the district attorney has concluded what we knew and expressed all along: Brian Warner is innocent.”
