Norwegian black metal legends, Darkthrone have announced the release of their new studio album, 'It Beckons Us All' which will arrive on next April 26 through Peaceville Records.
'It Beckons Us All' was recorded in April and May 2023 at Chaka Khan studios in Oslo and mastered by Jack Control at Enormous Door, while the cover is the work of by Polish illustrator Zbigniew Bielak.
“I'm having a hard time putting into words my personal feelings around the existential title 'It Beckons Us All' . I can only hope that others can feel the darkness that surrounds it,” says Fenriz.
“We recorded like we always do, live, meaning drums and guitar, and then we added another guitar. We found a new twist during this process that surely benefited this album. Fenriz did clean vocals on several songs, and her creative thinking made it very good. We also shared bass work this time. We added a lot of extra layers like guitar solos…just a cauldron of ideas. Instead of looking for a plug-in or a chorus synth patch, I recorded four vocal tracks for each. Darkthrone is a band in constant evolution, as many should already know. I have no idea what gender we are, and I haven't really cared much. , but I'm sure it's metal,” saysNocturno.
