Blue Medusa releases single, ‘Checkmate’

Alissa White-Gluz presenta “Checkmate” con BLUE MEDUSA, un sencillo que mezcla brutalidad y melodía, marcando una nueva etapa creativa y consolidando su evolución dentro del metal contemporáneo.

Alissa White-Gluz, known for her work with Arch Enemy and The Agonist, has unveiled “Checkmate”, the latest single from her new project BLUE MEDUSA.

The band features guitarists Alyssa Day and Dani Sophia, alongside bassist Alicia Vigil and drummer Delaney Jaster for live performances.

“Checkmate” blends heaviness and melody with sharp precision, offering a track that is both emotionally charged and sonically dynamic. It was written by White-Gluz, Day and Sophia, and mixed/mastered by Kile Odell.

“This is a song where everything just clicked… it’s one of the most cathartic songs I’ve ever written,” White-Gluz said.

The music video, co-directed with Vicente Cordero, unfolds within a symbolic chess game, adding cinematic depth and layered meaning to the release.

“I know exactly what each scene is for… but I want the fans to find their own meaning. That’s what makes art interesting,” the singer added.

BLUE MEDUSA will appear at major festivals including Louder Than Life and Aftershock Festival, marking a strong debut year for the project.
