Baroness is painted Gold and Gray and he gives us a new album, where a new phase of the band, new sounds, a new journey on sound, visual and artistic, constant experimentation, harmonies and endless feelings that somehow or other, Gold & Gray transmits us throughout its 17 tracks.

Four years after the launch of 'Purple 'His new material arrives today, June 14, which, as was already known, would close the circle of his works with chromatic names, which began in 2007 with the powerful 'Red Album', that if we compare this material with the latter, we could find a huge difference in the musical and in various aspects, but being followers of the band, we have witnessed the path, maturity and constant evolution that Baroness, guided to date by John Baizley, He has presented album after album and throughout his 16 years of life.

The graphic and artistic part is extremely noticeable and essential in the magic that surrounds this work completely (and has always been so in the work of the band). Baizley again, he fully exploits his artistic skills and creates a majestic piece, full of symbolism and feelings, which gives face to 'Gold & Gray 'And it is practically one of the best artistic pieces that he has worked to date.

It was album time 'Yellow & Green ', when they suffered that accident on their bus in 2012, a situation that would stop them for a period and causing two of their members to decide to leave the band. When Baroness resumed the project, the bassist joined Nick Jost and the drummer Sebastian Tomson, which contributed their magic in the production of 'Purple '.

For that period, the guitarist Peter Adams announces his departure from the band, and in order not to make the story any longer, the position would now be occupied by the guitarist and vocalist Gina Gleason, which would participate fully in all the pre and production of the new LP.

11 themes and 6 interludes form the chromatic musical journey of Gold & Gray, which begins in a thunderous and powerful way with 'Front Toward Enemy 'That way it had to begin, without a doubt, that riff feels to the core.

Appears 'I'm Alrerady Gone ', and it diminishes a little the power of our loudspeakers, but not the feeling of emotion and euphoria, which direct us to 'Seasons', the second single released that we could listen to since the beginning of April, and is one of the powerful songs on the album.

'Sevens', an interlude prior to 'Tourniquet', where acoustic guitars make a first appearance on this album, and they only sound in the initial part until the distortion of a new account does its thing, in addition to giving us the surprise this morning by presenting its official video, very consistent to the atmosphere of the song.

One more called interlude Anchor's Lament, perfect for later to burst completely 'Throw Me an Anchor ', the third single from Gold & Gray. 'I'd Do Anything ' It is simply one of the most powerful songs on the album, and not because it is full of distortion, powerful drums or something like that, since it is not, it is a completely dense acoustic song, one of the most outstanding and that appears on the middle part of the disc.

With a little more acoustic guitars and a short duration, Blankets of Ash prepares us for 'Emmet - Radiating Light ', which is the most relaxed subject of all, and 'Cold - Blooded Angels' the game follows a little and begins with the same delicacy but ends with power.

'Crooked Mile', interlude prior to 'Broken Halo ', a unique song that completely captures you, is one of those pieces that will make the album listed as one of the best works of the band.

We begin to get closer to the end of the journey, 'Dark Can', one more interlude that presents us with a short melody played by the entire band and suddenly appears'Borderlines', which was the first single from Gold & Gray and which also has an official video.

The penultimate and short track is 'Assault on East Falls', and with those incidental sounds makes way at the end with 'Pale Sun', the one that closes the album and slowly returns us to a state of stillness, but that does not erase the sensory experience that the Gold & Gray It has provided us from start to finish.

It was thought that the orange it would be the color that would give this LP its name, and although it is a hue that predominates in the art of it, the final name turned out to be different, after all, from a point of view towards the intangible, Gold and Gray they represent a polarity to each other, and in turn mark a neutral and balanced point between them, and to a certain extent, this is the record.

“In a way, I think it would be great if everyone kept referring to him as Orange, but Gold & Gray seemed like a more sophisticated way to call him. It was honestly much more in keeping with the message of the album. It is a fairly long album. It's not a double record, but that double-titling thing seemed appropriate. ”
