Cork-born alt-trailblazer Bambie Thug (they/them/fae) has released the official music video for their latest single “REDRUM”, out now via Spinefarm Records.
Directed by Jake Ringsell, the eerie visual draws direct inspiration from Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange and its infamous Ludovico Technique. The sequence becomes the foundation for a hypnotic and unsettling portrayal of indoctrination, psychological collapse, and rebellion against control.
“As soon as I heard ‘REDRUM’, I knew we were going to make something special,” Ringsell explained. “The song gripped me instantly. Bambie’s live performance at Glastonbury felt like a war cry — unapologetic and defiant. This video became a mirror of the world, reflecting both its darkness and its fire.”
Bambie themselves adds simply:
“Interpret it for yourselves.”
Produced by Shaun Lopez (†††, Deftones), “REDRUM” merges sinister guitar tones, crashing percussion, and fiercely political lyricism into a powerful declaration of defiance. The song has been praised globally as “raging and incredibly vital,” and stands as a fearless statement of who Bambie Thug is — an unshakable voice for the LGBTQIA+ community and other marginalized groups.
“REDRUM is political, anti-war, and a rebel cry for the LGBTQIA+ community and everyone tired of living in a disconnected world,” Bambie said. “All I can offer in these turbulent times is my art — and the hope that it wakes people up.”
The release marks Bambie’s first under their global deal with Spinefarm Records, home to Bullet For My Valentine, Creeper, Dayseeker, and Black Veil Brides. It follows a triumphant year featuring a European arena tour with Babymetal and Poppy, a Glastonbury debut, and standout appearances at London and Paris Fashion Week shows by Dilara Findikoglu, Ann Demeulemeester, and Maximilian Raynor.
