Amenra returns with two EPs that highlight the band’s career as one of extreme music’s most compelling and unequivocally vital entities. Titled ‘De Toorn’ and ‘With Fang and Claw’, they are out March 28 and feature distinct soundscapes, compositional approaches and emotional heft.
New single ‘Forlorn’ arrives with a stunning short film from artist Amorphokyria, who not only stars in the video, but also directed it from Tbilisi, Georgia, as the crew and dancers protested their government between shoots, day and night.
“‘With Fang and Claw’ explores our past work and merges with our contemporary selves, setting the direction for what will soon become our MASS VII. ‘Forlorn’ made me contemplate our shared past. I looked back at everything we’ve been through together, how we stuck together through thick and thin. I cherish every moment we still have. We wrote it all down, recorded almost everything that slowly trickles out of us. And in due time, we and everyone will fade away, until there’s nothing left of us,” says singer Colin Van Eeckhout.
