Alissa White-Gluz leaves Arch Enemy

Arch Enemy and Alissa White-Gluz part ways after more than a decade together; both sides hint at fresh beginnings for 2026.

Swedish melodic death metal stalwarts Arch Enemy have officially announced their split with long-time frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz. The announcement came on November 23, 2025, shortly after the band completed their European Blood Dynasty tour. In their statement, Arch Enemy expressed gratitude for the years shared and signalled that “wherever there is an ending, there is also a beginning. See you in 2026.”

Alissa White-Gluz followed up with her own message, thanking her fans and hinting at upcoming solo endeavors with “big surprises in store” in 2026. She has already released a solo single titled The Room Where She Died, marking the launch of her independent artistic journey.

Since joining the band in 2014, White-Gluz contributed to four studio albums and global tours, solidifying Arch Enemy’s position within the international extreme-metal scene. Her departure leaves open key questions regarding the band’s next step: whether they will recruit a new vocalist, pause for creative restructuring, or pivot stylistically. Meanwhile, Alissa’s personal project signals a bold new direction.

This moment represents a turning point for both parties. Arch Enemy now faces the challenge of redefining their identity beyond the White-Gluz era, and Alissa prepares to step into the spotlight under her own creative control. With plenty of anticipation building for 2026, the fans of extreme metal will be watching closely.
